Actors and musicians needed for one-off “radio theatre” charity event (Oak Park)

For the third year, Moebius Theatre will perform its “steampowered” live audio theatre adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic story, A Christmas Carol, to raise donations for local food pantries. The performance will take place Friday evening, December 7, at the beautiful Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park. This event has grown in popularity each year, and we are expanding the show and moving to a larger venue to accommodate the response.Seeking actors of all ages (there are even several roles available for children), as well as musicians and production staff. These are NOT paid positions – proceeds will be donated to the food bank. The performance is similar to “old-time radio” – with music and sound effects created live. Most of the roles use scripts onstage and will not need to be memorized. However, good reading and vocal interpretation skills are essential for actors (actors may play multiple roles), and ability with one or more British dialects is preferred. The form of the auditions is cold reads. If you wish to be considered as a musician, please contact director Kate Graham at acc@moebiustheatre.net.

If you are interested but cannot attend the scheduled audition, it may be possible to make other arrangements, but you MUST contact the director at acc@moebiustheatre.net prior to the audition time.

Audition, rehearsal, and performance locations are all convenient to Green and Blue Line El stations.

It will help us better plan the auditions if you could please contact the director at acc@moebiustheatre.net to let us know you will be attending. If you are interested but cannot attend the scheduled audition, it may be possible to make other arrangements, if you contact the director PRIOR to the scheduled auditions.

Again, these are not paid positions. We’re just trying to have a little fun and do some good in the world. 🙂
